- The year is very close to becoming just another year in history. With the election of Barrack Obama as our first African American President, the raising of gas prices to four dollars per gallon and then the return back down to under two dollars per gallon are all significant pieces of history. We turn now to the future, 2058, at Tennessee Wesleyan College.
- In 2058 the college will top another all time record enrollment of 2058, the same amount of students as the year.
- Dr. Katie Morgan the college President will be overly enthusiastic about the news.
- The newly built Dick Pelley Psychology center is dedicated on April First.
- Dr. Janice Ryberg will still be teaching music classes.
- Dr. Katherine Ging will be the head of the education department. Her favorite topic will still be “No Child Left Behind.”
- Convocations will be a lecture course worth two credit hours, held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:00. This is required of all full time students.
- A new sandwich at J. Wesleys’ Grille called the Thelma will be considerate helping of beef with zesty cheese sauce, with optional condiments on the side.
- The fall theater group will be performing The Wizard of Oz and the show will be held over for three weeks.
- The Bulldogs soccer team will have won the national title, but disappointed that they have to share the stadium with the new football team.
- The Lacrosse team of 2008 will be honored with a picture of them hanging in the cafeteria.
- A new pedestrian skywalk will be built over Green Street.
- The Student Government Association changes the tradition of going to Washington D.C. opting instead for Charleston, South Carolina.
- Kathryn Paden will do a performance in the Sutherland Amphitheatre after returning from her fifteenth world tour.
- Adam Yarber is the school’s public relations director.
- Jon Mychal Heatherly will be the advisor for the New Exponent.
