Wouldn’t it be nice to live to be one-hundred years old, or at least live a healthy balanced life? On September 24, 2009, Stephanie Huskey led one of the best convocations that I have been to this year. With her contagious laugh and high-spirited attitude, she set the mood for being fun.

I took a trip to the carbon footprint calculator, and I realized my new habit of bike riding would offset my footprint by somewhere in the ballpark of 1 ton of CO2. If making this small change could have such a vast impact, I was confident that I could find other small things. What else could I do to make a difference?

Did you ever wonder why President Obama’s speech to school children was so controversial? Was it because the speech was actually controversial? Was it because he spoke to school children or because he is a Democrat?
On September 8th, 2009, McMinn County Schools required parental permission to view Obama’s speech to schoolchildren.

By Bethany Shenberger Staff Writer Everyone knows about cancer, but how many of us can say that we know someone with a serious and very rare cancer? Unfortunately, I can say that I do. Even though I have not known this person for long, my heart and prayers go out to her family.
