Tennessee Wesleyan College hosts the annual event “Up til Dawn” with the goal to raise as much money for children who are victims of cancer, through the St. Jude foundation. It’s a long and worthwhile task to set up this amazing event.
There are many families within our campus, community, and state that have been affected by the devastation of cancer. But what happens when this awful disease invades the life of someone too young and innocent to understand why the terrible disease has chosen them? This is true for the children at Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital; they are fighting a battle every day, a battle that can seem hopeless. Yet, they tough it out – some with a smile on their face. Tennessee Wesleyan and a group of inspired and caring people try their best to make those smiles a reality for all the Saint Jude Kids.
There are some changes this year with “Up til Dawn.” Don’t worry: there will still be the fun in the gym, but we will not be able to see the true benefits of all the hard work until a little later. The schedule has changed slightly. The letters that were sent out to the people of the community and to families asking for donations to this wonderful cause will be done the actual night of “Up til Dawn”. The goal is and always will be the same, to help raise as much money as possible for these great kids. There will be many more events to come so be sure to stay posted and remember the date: October 31, 2009.
