Here is some good news for everyone who enjoyed the fun of contra dancing last year at the Arts Center. Regular dances ended in August, but now they’re back! Saturday night, November 7, the Athens Area Arts Council will once again host a dance from 7:30 to 10: 30 with live music by the band Contraindicated.
Don’t worry if you have never danced before. Get there a few minutes early for some pointers, and the first dance will also be lesson time for newcomers. Soon you will be dancing with the best! Since this type of dance involves changing partners during each dance, you can come with a friend or by yourself. You will have a great time and meet lots of new people while you learn something new and fun.
While convocation credit will not be given for this dance, students can sign in and get free admission. Who can argue with free entertainment on a Saturday night? Angie Watts is working on getting next semester’s dances approved for convo credit. Admission for non-students is $7 for adults and $4 for children.
