The Tennessee Wesleyan College men’s basketball team recently traveled to Virginia Intermont to play for the second time this basketball season. The first time the Bulldogs played Virginia Intermont was back in November when we had a victory of 88 to 85.
This time the TWC Bulldogs played even harder than before. The Bulldogs had an outstanding victory winning 98 to 80. Matt Towry led the team scoring 19 points, while Matt Harper was right behind him scoring 18 points. In addition, Jesse Booher racked up 17 points, and Clarence Threat contributed 15 points and nine rebounds.
On a side note, the basketball team is losing one of its players this year. Tennessee Wesleyan’s Rudy Adams, a 5’8 point guard from Jasper, Tennessee, has scored a total of 136 points for the Bulldogs. Adams has had 18 rebounds, 27 assists, and 12 steals in his career at TWC, as well. Not only is Rudy Adams a basketball player for TWC, but he is also a cross country runner. Rudy is one who will be missed on the basketball court.
The Bulldogs are currently 12-10 and still have many games left to play. The next home game is February 17, at 7:30 p.m. against Reinhardt College. If you are free and need something to do, then come check out the game. It will be a game that you do not want to miss. GO BULLDOGS!
