The TWC Math Club wanted to celebrate Pi Day, which is March 14 (3.14). Unfortunately, however, that was on Sunday this year. Instead, they celebrated two days later on Tuesday. A stand was set up outside Townsend Hall, where the Math faculty reside. Cupcakes, cookies, and other sweets were sold to raise money for the Math Club.
The main event of the day, however, was throwing pies. Three faculty members volunteered to be targets – Dr. Brown, Dr. Pelley, and Mr. McLaughlin. Students Garret Casson and George Pannell also volunteered. It cost $2 to throw at a student and $1 to throw at a professor. The students thoroughly enjoyed a chance to get revenge on their professors. What was really surprising was the thrill the students had throwing pies at their peers. Just over $100 was made. This included some donations with no expectation in return. Pi Day was definitely a success!
The Math Club plans to increase advertising next year to acquire more faculty and students to volunteer to be targets. This should attract more students wanting to pie someone. Overall, a good time was had by all who participated, and Pi Day will hopefully be an even bigger success next year.
If you are interested in Math Club, you can contact Dr. Ashe or Dr. Brown. Their offices are located on the top floor of Townsend.

Sounds like a good way to raise money for the club and have a good time doing it. I might even pay $10 to pie(pi) Dr. Ashe.
With advertising this could become a campus wide event and will be a highlight each year.
Good cookies, cupcakes and candy sales might also be a popular item. A lemonaide stand is fun.
