The convocation, “Erasing Hate,” started out with an interesting video of Matthew Shepherd, a student in the United States, who was beaten to death because he was a gay male. His sexuality was something that many people in his community did not approve of. He was a person who enjoyed being in the fine arts at his high school, but he was unable to graduate because of being brutally beaten by people who disapproved of his lifestyle. Continue Reading »

The men’s and women’s basketball teams faced off against the Reinhardt College Eagles on Wednesday, February 17.  The TWC Lady Bulldogs played first, with the women’s Reinhardt team gaining an early lead at the start of the first half.  TWC got their act together, and by halftime, the Lady Bulldogs were tied with Reinhardt’s Lady Eagles 27-27.  During the second half the game grew even fiercer, with both the Lady Eagles and the Lady Bulldogs earning fouls every few seconds.  At one point in the second half, Tennessee Wesleyan and Reinhardt were tied 47-47, but the Lady Bulldogs made some three-point shots to win the game with a score of 59-49. Tennessee Wesleyan College had a convocation about the Career Development Center on January 28, 2010. The director of the Career Development Center is Thema Nicholson, who joined the Tennessee Wesleyan family at the beginning of this school year.

The Career Development Center is available for every student on campus (residents and commuters). The center is there for students to come for need help, but they have to come in on their own. Continue Reading »

After receiving 30 hours of specialized training, plus courtroom observation time, these students, myself included, became part of a national organization whose job it is to protect and serve the best interests of children.
