As a student who has lost her mother to breast cancer, this month has a whole different meaning to me.
Wouldn’t it be nice to live to be one-hundred years old, or at least live a healthy balanced life? On September 24, 2009, Stephanie Huskey led one of the best convocations that I have been to this year. With her contagious laugh and high-spirited attitude, she set the mood for being fun.

Unfortunately, I can say that I do. Even though I have not known this person for long, my heart and prayers go out to her family.
We have been hearing a lot on the news about H1N1 or “swine flu” as many people call it. No doubt everyone is eager to avoid catching it, but the best way to avoid it is by practicing the same health precautions you should use to stay healthy all the time. Dean Mashburn recently shared these tips from the CDC for avoiding these germs, and you may have seen similar signs around campus. Follow these and you’ll have a much better chance of avoiding all the misery and missed homework that comes with fall flu season.
