It’s A Jungle Out There: Explorers Needed

jungle 2

This summer the Biology department, headed by Dr. Allen Moore and Dr. Grant Willhite, are planning to take a group of students to the Santa Cruz Forest Reserve located in the Loreto region of Peru. Students will be conducting research projects, collecting and identifying tropical rainforest plants and animals, and conducting community service for the local people. The Reserve consists of virgin rainforests with some of the highest plant and animal diversity in the world.

Dr. Willhite and Dr. Moore are currently recruiting students from all over campus. You do not have to be a Biology major to participate. Students can gain up to 4 hours towards their science ACR.

Dates for the trip are May 22nd to June 1st, 2016. Any students interested can contact Dr. Willhite (willhite@twcnet.edu) or Dr. Moore (or amoore@twcnet.edu).

This is an exciting opportunity for any student or faculty member interested in travel to see the beauty of the Peruvian rainforest.
